Microbot Guide

Build your own party, explore at your own pace, and learn the tools that make that party yours.

A party on your schedule

Companions are AI characters you hire directly from a friendly innkeeper. Your starting quest giver can introduce your first companion. Choose tanks, healers and damage dealers to fill the roles your party needs. Play solo, bring a friend, or mix players and companions in the same group.

They fight beside you through quests, dungeons, raids and battlegrounds. Their class and encounter logic handles much of the moment-to-moment play, while your orders decide the plan: focus a marked enemy, keep another controlled, choose a spell, change formation or stop to drink.

You still lead the adventure. A poorly planned pull can wipe the party, and good positioning, gear and control matter. Start with the Beginner’s Guide, then learn the Microbot Control Panel and companion behavior.

Companions can also talk with you through their AI personalities. AI personalities explains their modes, styles and conversations.

Grow from a first companion into a raid

You begin with one companion slot. The Basics II, III and IV unlock the next slots when you complete their quests at levels 10, 12 and 14. A character can then lead four regular companions; licenses improve the equipment available as you progress.

Develop other characters on the same account to build a larger roster. Each uses its own level, slots and licenses. Your own max-level characters can also become Legacy companions, bringing the heroes you have geared into the party.

A full Vanilla raid takes at least eight level 60 characters on one account, or a multiboxing setup. That strength is earned: develop your characters, upgrade regular companions, gear your Legacy characters and learn to control the group. A full raid is not available at character creation.

A player guild is optional, and multiboxing is allowed. Friends can share the adventure and earn real-player group bonuses while companions cover missing roles. Choose the company and pace that suit you.

A lasting journey through Azeroth

Vanilla content is available through Naxxramas. There is no future phase schedule holding the later raids back, but individual characters still earn their access through the progression and recognition quests. Earlier zones, dungeons and raids keep a purpose as you build your account.

Heroic dungeons add challenge at the original dungeon levels, with improved rewards. Licenses, Lead by Example, Legacy bonuses and Legendary weapons give you several ways to keep developing your party.

Vanilla is the starting point of the intended journey through the expansions. The current character bridge covers Vanilla to The Burning Crusade; Wrath of the Lich King is planned. Read Expansions and transfers before moving a character forward.

Keep the characters you build

Microbot has never had a server wipe. There are no seasonal resets, forced fresh starts or hardcore character deletion, and characters are not deleted for inactivity. You can take a break and return to the progress, account power and story you built.

Character names are shared across Vanilla and TBC. A transferred character keeps its name; a surviving character or a transfer still being processed can keep that name reserved. Account and character names explains what happens when a character is deleted.

You can play and complete the game for free. Optional shop conveniences support the project; progression does not require a purchase.

Find the answer you need

Search with the words you use in game: a command, a feature, a class or the problem you are having. The orange terms on Features lead to the corresponding detailed guide. When you need help beyond the guide, ask in Discord.
